Learning outside the classroom is rewarding and enriching for both teachers and students alike. Discovering new places such as manufacturing plants, museums and law courts undoubtedly adds extra depth to students’ learning and experience. Under this scheme, we recognise the positive impact of school trips and educational visits in enhancing the social, personal and emotional development of young people. In addition, school trips provide unique opportunities for kinaesthetic learning (i.e. learning by doing) and encourage students to engage with people, places and buildings in new ways.
We believe that exposure to new environments can be particularly beneficial to those studying in rural areas where development and infrastructures are almost nonexistent. Therefore, our programmes under this scheme would target schools in under developed areas in Nigeria. Our programmes would provide free trips for young people to visit, explore and learn from big organisations.
Our programmes within this scheme are not open for individual application. Rather, we look at places where we can make good impact in engaging young people. We intend to offer at least one programme under this scheme each year. The programmes may be restricted to schools within a State and/or particular Local Government Area. Detailed information about each programme and dates would be published within our news section and social media platforms. For those interested in this scheme, we strongly recommend that you follow us on social media in order to get up to date information about application open dates.
