TECH FOR PROFIT SCHEME

This scheme is aimed at young people who have interest in technology. Our main reason for this scheme is to help young people transform their digital media skills into profit. The phenomenal growth of the internet over the last decades has brought a revolutionary growth in the number of jobs available for writers, comedians, illustrators, photographers, videographers etc within the digital media industry. There has never been a better time for creative minds with interest in technology to become self-employment, since the public’s appetite for new information presented in unique and original ways is voracious. In a nutshell, anyone that knows how to use YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc can turn those social media skills into profit.

Practically any skill can be turned into a marketable product but it is not enough to be simply good at something. You need to be able to personalize your service to a specific target market. After all, millions of other young people know how to use YouTube/Facebook/Flickr as well. This is where Dr Nonso Nnamoko Foundation comes in. We want to help young people to PACKAGE their knowledge into something that clients can recognise as valuable. That involves helping them construct digital business ideas, teaching them how to manage finance and grow the business. We aim to deliver this through a series of FREE training courses in targeted locations within Nigeria.

We accept applications directly from individuals and we offer at least one opening under this scheme each year. Whether you are in school or just a young person looking for work; there may be an opportunity under this scheme to help you turn your social media skills into a business venture. It is important to note that acceptance is less often based on academic ability and more about factors such as commitment to learn, financial circumstance, where you live, what your parents do for a living etc. Those from poor families with good work ethics would be given preference.

Applicants are reminded that our funding alone cannot meet the current demand so open applications may be restricted to people living or attending schools in particular Local Government Area. Information about open applications and dates are published within our news section and social media platforms. For those interested in this scheme, we strongly recommend that you follow us on social media in order to get up to date information about application open dates.
