We want to award training support to young people who can demonstrate evidence of hard work and entrepreneurship. You do not have to be registered to and/or attending any school, although we welcome application from those in school. You must be able to show evidence of hard work and commitment to learn. You can demonstrate this in your application through previous work experience(s), ambitions, future plans and/or any other means you deem necessary. In addition, you must show evidence of hardship from yourself and/or sponsor which may impede your progress in achieving your goals.
It is important to note that both your commitment to learn work-based skills and personal circumstance are equally important to us when making decision. For example, we know that those who face the most adversity are least likely to have the time and resources necessary to progress in life. Likewise, some people do well despite adversity, although it does not imply that they are unharmed in other aspects of their life. We will consider each application on its own merit and your achievement levels are weighed against your personal circumstances. Of course, we would give priority to those who do well despite adversity but we encourage people to apply if they believe they need our help even if they have poor achievement records.
We make decisions purely on the information provided on your application form. Therefore, it is imperative that applicants explain their situation as clear as possible when completing the application form.
