This scheme is aimed at young people wanting to progress their education beyond primary school level. This is because primary school education is mainly financed by the government, and parents/guardians are made to bear the full costs of sending their children/wards to secondary schools or tertiary institutions. Thus, our funding under this scheme is particularly focused on paying school fees for young people at secondary school.
We accept applications directly from individuals and we offer at least one opening under this scheme each year. Whether you are already in secondary school or thinking of going to one, there may be a grant under this scheme to help fund your learning. It is important to note that acceptance is less often based on academic ability and more about factors such as financial circumstance, where you live, what your parents do for a living etc. Of course, students from poor families with high academic ability would be given preference.
Applicants are reminded that our funding alone cannot meet the current demand so open applications may be restricted to those attending/wanting to attend schools in particular Local Government Area. Information about open applications and dates are published within our news section and social media platforms. We strongly recommend that you follow us on social media if you are interested in this scheme.
